Coastal corridor
East Coast Ports to Caribbean Freight
Commercial cargo, equipment and vehicles from East Coast ports to Caribbean islands on liner and barge services.
Service type: Liner and barge
Islands across the Caribbean are served from East Coast ports by container liner services and by barges. The right option depends on the island, the cargo and how often that island is served.
The paperwork depends on the destination. The U.S. Virgin Islands are a U.S. territory with their own customs rules, and most other Caribbean destinations are foreign countries. Exports may need an Electronic Export Information filing, and clearance at the destination is handled by a licensed customs broker there.
Tell us the destination island and what you are shipping, and we review the options and the paperwork it needs.

Questions
Usually, yes. Most Caribbean destinations are foreign countries, and the U.S. Virgin Islands have their own customs rules. We tell you what the shipment needs and when a licensed customs broker is required.
Heavy and oversized pieces often move by barge. Send the dimensions and weight so we can check which options can take them.
Tell us the island. We review each request individually, because services differ from island to island.
