1. Who we are
Ferries Freight is a service of MilestoneBrokers LLC (USDOT 04250815). We arrange transportation through licensed carriers and vessel operators. We do not own or operate trucks or vessels. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean MilestoneBrokers LLC, and "you" means the business that uses this website or asks us for a quote.
2. This website
The information on this website is general. The routes, services and cargo types it describes are examples. They don't mean that a sailing, carrier, vessel or rate is available for your shipment.
3. Quotes
- A quote is an estimate based on the information you give us. It isn't binding until we confirm it in writing.
- A quote can change if your cargo, its weight or dimensions, the route or the dates differ from what you told us, or if carriers or vessel operators change their rates or surcharges before booking.
- Unless the quote says otherwise, it doesn't include duties, taxes, customs or inspection fees, storage, demurrage, detention or other extra charges.
4. How your shipment is carried
We arrange transportation; we don't perform it. When you accept a quote, we arrange the shipment with one or more carriers and vessel operators. Each of them carries your cargo under its own bill of lading, terms and tariff, including its liability limits.
Vessel operators set the sailing schedules, and these can change because of weather, sea conditions, capacity or port operations. We don't guarantee sailing, transit or delivery times unless we confirm a guarantee in writing for a specific shipment.
5. Your responsibilities
- Describe your cargo accurately, including its weight, dimensions and value, and declare any hazardous materials.
- Make sure the cargo is lawful to ship and is prepared, packed and secured for road and sea transport.
- Give us accurate shipping documents, and make sure someone is available at pickup and delivery.
- You're responsible for extra costs, fines and delays caused by inaccurate information or by cargo that doesn't meet carrier or legal requirements.
6. Limitation of liability
We aren't a carrier and aren't liable as one for loss of or damage to your cargo; see Cargo Claims. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected with arranging a shipment is limited to the fees you paid us for arranging that shipment, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits.
7. Payment
Invoices are payable within 30 days of the invoice date, unless your booking confirmation says otherwise.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and applicable federal law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version published on this page when you accept a quote applies to that shipment.
